This has been a busy week this week. The fall sports preview is coming up in a couple weeks and I have been working hard to get my end of the stories done. It's crazy. But to reason the title, today I saw a bunch of people that I actually knew, all in the same day. I ran into the circulation manager at Sheetz while I was getting some dinner (that will make some people laugh) Then I ran into the girls soccer coach I had just interviewed two hours earlier at BiLo. Crazy day. I did three interviews for the fall sports preview today.
Yesterday was a day that reminded me of the first week of school last year. Our copy editor/paginator had gotten a new computer installed yesterday. Except without the great and standard features of Photoshop and News Edit Pro. The paper came out only slightly late though because of that. I have to be at work at 7 am tomorrow. Yay for me. I think this reaffirmed my theory that Macintoshes are bad, bad, bad. I got a disk from the football coach the other day and the disk wouldn't work. And since there is NO PCs in there, I was cooked like fish in an oven.
So that's it. I'm going to try and get some sleep tonight. Keyword: try.

The allure of Maryland
Here's something I've yet to get. Apparently as journalism students we're supposed to move to Maryland for our first job because that is where the best opportunities are. And now many of my friends are following that same advice. Not that that's weird, but considering Maryland is about the size of a thumbtack makes it fascinating. The real reason this came up is because my former boss who I affectionately referred to as Chief Broken Dish will be moving soon to Maryland. I got an E-mail from CBD the other day saying her boyfriend had got a teaching job in Germantown, Md. and will be moving there soon. CBD will be moving there in a month or two after she gets a job and informs her employer she will be leaving. It's a little sad but at the same time I understand it happens. It definitely was surprising. But why do they all move to Maryland? Um, you do know there are 48 other states in the USA.
